3rd grade already?

Is it really that time? Can you really be in 3rd grade already? Seems like yesterday you were just starting Kindergarten. Now you are wearing lip gloss and other things we can't mention here. You looked so cute on the first day of school. Of course, you always look cute. You picked out what you wanted to wear for the first day. That's the first time you have done that. I guess you really are growing up...

Ten years ago I married the love of my life...

Ok, so it was a couple of days ago now, but I have been super busy with school! But it has still been ten wonderful years! We've both gained a few pounds and I've changed my haircolor, but besides that we look pretty much the same. Our anniversary was on Thursday, but he surprised me with my gift on Wednesday. He went across town to my FAVORITE sb store to get me a gc. He also met Carolyn our favorite sb store owner. They had quite the conversation. I will have fun spending my gc in a few weeks!! On Thursday, Mom and Dad came over and Jordan gave us a card she had picked out. It was a card with a cruise ship on it that made a ship noise. She loved it and couldn't wait to give it to us! It also had a gc in it to Red Lobster...yum!! Then we went to Steak and Ale for dinner...again, yum!!! All in all it was a very nice anniversary. I hope we have 50 or 60 more wonderful years... :0)

We've been to Oz and back!

What a 2 weeks we have had! We have been to Oz and back and been to Oz and been to Oz and well, now we are home for good. Jordan had the BEST time being a munchkin and an Ozian! She got autographs from almost all the stars and pics with almost all of them! She even got to sign an autograph for Mrs. Hairrell...she got a kick out of that!! We went to the last show and at the end I when they came out to bow, I took some pics of J...what were they going to do throw me out??? I finallly have all the pics from Jordan's cameras, so in a few weeks, I can work on her WOZ book. Then I can scrap the pics for me! Here are some pics from the last few nights. J's friend Ashley is in most of the pics with her...they were 2 little peas in a pod! If you go to the bottom of the page and click on the little clip, you too can hear the music we have heard ( and continue to hear) for the last 2 weeks. It's true, there's no place like home!

8 years ago today....

Jordan Nicole finally made her entrance into the world! She was a stubborn little thing and didn't want to come out, but at 9:02 p.m. she finally decided she was ready to make her appearance. I can still remember that night like it was yesterday. Here is a layout from her first moments and a picture of us with her today. She is having a ball at theatre camp this week. They say is one of the best...no surprise there...the girl loves to sing! Right now her favorite thing to sing is her new Hannah Montanna CD that she got for her birthday. We have heard it NONSTOP since she received it! She definitely has music in her future...thanks for sharing her birthday with me....

I can't believe it's been that long! Where did my hot pink baby go??? Here is a layout that I did for Jordan's first birthday when she had HOT PINK icing...never again! After 3 baths, she still had a pink tint to her! Tonight was the birthday slumber party with 5 of her friends. They had lots to eat, a craft to make, and plenty of fun! On Tuesday I will have an official 8 year old...it just doesn't seem possible....

What a fantabulous day!!

Ok, I know it's not a real word, but it sounds good!! LOL!! Brook and I went to the Great American Scrapbook Convention today. Her dh Clay picked me up and dropped us off so we wouldn't have to pay for parking. We got in there and started by just walking around looking at everything first...then we were going to go back and buy. We did pretty good until we got to our FAVORITE scrapbook store in the world's booth, The Crafty Scrapper. We talked to Carolyn the owner for a few minutes before heading back to find the AMM purses that were being sold. I now have my green one in my possession!! Then I went back to their booth and found more clear stamps... ;0). We also stumbled on to a local store selling Purple Cows...buy one get one half off with free shipping!! We jumped at that!! We bought the cow as the heffer and the bull were too big. They should be delivered next week. I found a cute scrappy shirt with a tropical feel...also found some pink camo paper...been looking for it forever!!! Then we went back to our favorite store's booth to get a pic with Carolyn. We told her we were going to put it on our blog. She couldn't believe it! She had Amy the other owner come over and join us. So we met her and asked her to join in! The funniest part is they have a sign that says "It's Hot!" a phrase that Carolyn coined last year at convention not knowing that PH always said it. So now people tease her about it...so that's why the sign is in the pic!! All in all a great day! :0)

Happy Mother's Day!

I woke this morning to a huge card that Dean had made me that said "Happy Mother's Day". He made it this morning with some of my scrappy supplies...I love homemade cards so much better than store bought cards. Dean said he does too because he can write what he wants to say. I don't have my Mother's Day gift yet as it's still on order from the lss. Hopefully it will be in soon... ;0) At church Dean bought me a beautiful orchid that matched just about perfect. After church we went to Mom's and gave her her present. Then Jordan gave me a little handprint plaque she had made a few weeks ago at M's. After a few pictures, we were off to Grandy's for a free lunch for moms! It was a very nice Mother's Day all the way around! I hope all my girlfriends had a great day too!! :0)

Proud Mama here!!!

Jordan has been taking piano for 5 WEEKS now....she had her first music competition today where she had to memorize 7 songs and transpose another. Granted they were easy songs and the transposing was "Yankee Doodle" but still only after 5 weeks...She did GREAT!!! She got all C's which is good in the music field b/c that stands for Commodations...A's means she wasn't paying attention so thank goodness she didn't get those!! Her teacher was SOOO impressed and told us she has NEVER put someone in this soon into lessons! The judge was really impressed too and expects to see her next year. She will get her certificate, report card, and a gold pin at her recital on May 19th. We were so proud of her that she got to go get ice cream afterwards! I'm going to tell her Music teacher at school tomorrow so they can hopefully make an announcement over the speaker for the school to hear...this is a HUGE accomplishment and she needs to be recognized!! Ok, stepping down from my Mama box now....So then I went to Target last night and found this CUTE Komono shirt and I could just see it on her...so it jumped in my hands and it came home with me... ;0) I was right....it is sooo cute on her!!

No retreat for me this year...

Since Brook and I couldn't go to the retreat this year in LA, we decided to have our own little mini retreat today. We first went to our favorite tea room, The Dove's nest for lunch, then next door to our favorite scrappy store, the Crafty Scrapper. Then it was back to my house to scrap! We had so much fun! She got 7 pages done and I got 6 pages done! We also watched Sixteen Candles and Grease 2...we also talked to Karen on the speakerphone before they went to dinner. All in all we had a great day even though we didn't get to join in the California fun!

Migraine is a dirty word...

This weekend I had another migraine. Luckily they have been less frequent since I've been on Topamax, but they still hurt when I do have them! It all started Saturday afternoon while I was out shopping. I came home and took some meds and got the hot rice pack hoping that would loosen the muscles. No such luck...about 7 o'clock, I told Dean I was going to lay down. The next thing I knew it was 2:45 in the morning. I was still fully dressed all the way down to my toe rings! I changed in to my jammies, took more meds and crawled back into bed. The migraine was gone by Sunday but the after effects were still there. Migraines just take so much out of me. Two days later my neck, shoulders, and head are still sore from it. I wish there was a cure for this dirty word....

Happy birthday to me...

As of 6:58 a.m. yesterday morning I was offically 34 years old. I don't feel older so I guess that's a good thing. I absolutely LOVE birthdays!! I love letting everyone know it's my birthday...is that wrong??? I had a pretty good day...we will go out and celebrate with dinner this weekend so that will be fun. So another 364 days until I get to enjoy hearing Happy Birthday again...

Getting the hang of this blogging thing....

Ok so I'm still figuring this blog thing out...thought I added pics to my other post, but alas I did not...anywho, here are the bluebonnet pics...

Bluebonnets and Snow?????

Who would have thought that the day before Easter we would have had snow here in Texas...not I!! Karen came in from Kansas to visit for a few days and we told her she brought the cold weather and snow with her... :0) We had a great time though! Brook and I took her to eat at our favorite tea room and then to our favorite scrappy store...what a better day could we have??!! Unfortunately, Karen had to go home on Saturday since Easter was on Sunday. It was still cold on Sunday but we were able to get our blulebonnet pictures done that day. They turned good considering we were all shivering the whole time. I'm just glad we had bonnets this year unlike last year! You just never know what kind of weather we will have in the Spring in Texas....

Spring is coming....Spring break is going....

Here I am writing my first message on my new blog. I should be finishing lesson plans, but what fun would that be? I've been inspired by my many blogger friends to give this a try...can't guarantee that I will keep it updated, but I will give it my best try! Spring break is officially over and it's back to school tomorrow. Why is it that a week off from school goes by so fast and a week of school goes by like a creeping turtle? Just a few weeks and we will be out a day for Easter. I'll take anything I can get!! After that we have nothing until the end of the year since we had to use a snow day back in January. It shall be a long April and May...So this week is the first day of Spring and I think I'm ready for it! We have been Spring cleaning for a couple of months now. We had our garage sale this weekend and did pretty well considering we had mostly JUNK! We made over $200 so not too shabby! Everything else that didn't sell was immediately donated. It did NOT come back into the house! I could hear the house let out a sigh of relief that the JUNK was gone and not coming back! We still have some cleaning to do inside but it's MUCH better than it was! Jordan spent the weekend with Meme and Poppy while all this was going on or half the stuff would have come back into the house! She is a pack rat like her momma...sigh, we are just way too much alike...speaking of Jordan, here are a couple of pics of her last week when we went to have lunch with my mom. She looks so grown up in her brown capris and brown headband. My girl is growing up....
